Whether that be an injury, false start or a heart-breaking loss, that’s just the life of anyone that plays sports, really.

A year ago at the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 1 Girls Swim and Dive State Finals held at the Holland Aquatic Center, Clinton Township Chippewa Valley’s Rachel Kincher had a hiccup with her swimming goggles just before the start of the prelims for the 100 backstroke.
“You wouldn’t believe it,” laughed Kincher, who was a junior at Chippewa Valley at the time and had qualified for the state meet in her top event.
