Bears dial up pressure on defense, hand Seahawks first loss to reach 3A semifinals

EDGEWATER — At halftime, Oakdale football vowed to win the trench battle over South River.

The Seahawks had largely matched the Bears’ physicality to that point, and the latter felt they should have an advantage as the class 3A state quarterfinal game wore on. The ultimate test of that theory came in the fourth quarter.
