MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The wait is over for Wicked fans who have been counting down the days since last year’s movie ended in a cliffhanger.

Part two of the movie musical premiered in theaters Friday, drawing eager audiences to Marcus Point Cinema in Madison.

Marcus Point Cinema helped build excitement with Wicked-themed snacks, drinks and decorations throughout the venue.

Longtime fans of the Wicked book and Broadway show knew what to expect for the rest of the story, but many were still in the dark.

Mandy Sorenson brought her close friend to see part one last November, and they’ve eagerly awaited the second movie.

“She doesn’t know the second-half of the plot. I’m very excited to see her actual reaction to the ending.” Sorenson said.
