LUCKNOW: The wife of a marine engineer was allegedly assaulted, strip-searched and publicly humiliated at a crockery shop in the city after the shop owner and his family accused her of theft. The woman has filed an FIR against the shopkeeper, his wife, daughter and employees. According to the FIR, the woman, who resides in the PGI area, was on her way to pick up her daughter from school on Nov 15. She stopped briefly at a crockery shop in Utretia Bazaar to buy household items. The victim alleged that as she stepped out, the shopkeeper and his wife blocked her way and accused her of theft.
