In a disturbing incident, a 32-year-old teacher has been arrested by Sikkim’s Gyalshing District Police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor female student. The accused teacher has been identified as Charan Chettri.

As per reports, the minor student was lured by the teacher to his room in Gyalshing town in Sikkim on the pretext of some school work, but was sexually assaulted by him.

The arrest followed a formal complaint by the family of the student. A team from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and Child Helpline (CHL) Gyalshing immediately visited the residence of the victim to ensure her safety and support. The minor was later taken t
