Motorists have been strongly advised to "always" adhere to one key rule to "stay safe" online. The DVLA has disclosed that around 20,000 individuals reported fraudulent activities by scammers last year.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the DVLA urged: "Stay safe online - always use http://GOV.UK for DVLA services. Using other sites could cost you more - or worse, they could be scams.
"Read our top tips on how to avoid scams." The Government body cautioned on its website that fraudsters are "increasingly" utilising "more sophisticated ways" to trick their victims.
