RAPID CITY — Fifth-seeded Hamlin joined the top 3 Class A seeds (No. 1 Dakota Valley, No. 2 Dell Rapids and No. 3 Sioux Falls Christian) in posting first-round wins in the South Dakota State High School Volleyball Tournament.

Dakota Valley 3, Wagner 0

The Panthers (32-3) opened the day with a 25-8, 25-11 and 25-18 win over eighth-seeded Wagner.

Leading the way for Dakota Valley were Claire Munch, 14 kills and five aces; Samantha Kimball, nine kills, six aces and 11 digs; Madie Munch, 29 assists; and Coryn Kimbell, 15 digs.

Hanna Holzbauer tallied six kill and seven digs, Braxton Nedved 15 assists and Ravyn Medricky seven digs for Wagner (24-8).
