A shocking double murder has rocked the Old Jail Colony under Dargha Bazar police limits in Cuttack. A man allegedly killed his father and stepmother following a bitter property dispute.

Police identified the victims as Deepak Kumar Das, an employee of Choudwar Jail, and his wife Rita Rani Das. Officers discovered both bodies inside their residence with multiple stab wounds, lying in a pool of blood.

Investigators revealed that the accused son, Alok Kumar Das, had been locked in a long-standing dispute with his parents over property and financial matters. On Friday night, the quarrel escalated into violence. Alok allegedly stabbed his stepmother first and then attacked his father when he arrived at the scene.
