RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat made a significant statement during his visit to Manipur, asserting that the world would not exist without Hindus. Speaking to a gathering, he emphasized the resilience of Hindu society, stating, "If Hindus do not survive, the world will not survive," and highlighted the importance of the social network that has been established within the community.
Bhagwat referenced the rise and fall of various civilizations, including Greece, Egypt, and Rome, to illustrate his point. He quoted Muhammad Iqbal, saying, "Kuch baat hai ki hasti mitti nahi hamari," which translates to "There is something about us that our identity never fades." He expressed confidence that Hindu society would endure due to its strong foundational network.
During his address, Bhagwat called for unity and character-building among the people of Manipur to foster lasting peace and progress. He met with tribal leaders and stressed that the issues they raised were national concerns that should be addressed within the framework of the Constitution. He remarked, "Issues in a family must be solved within the family. Dialogue must be based on oneness, not bargaining."
Bhagwat also noted that some regional tensions have historical roots in colonial policies. He stated, "Destruction takes minutes, but construction takes years, especially when done without harming anyone. Peace-building needs patience, collective work, and discipline."
He further elaborated on the historical significance of India, referring to it as an immortal civilization that has withstood various challenges over time. He pointed out that while political opinions may differ today, the essence of Bharat as a unified nation remains intact. Bhagwat concluded by emphasizing the need for self-reliance in India's economy, advocating for independence from external dependencies to ensure prosperity and security for all citizens.
