New Delhi: Sometime ago this year, the European Union reaffirmed their stance on phasing out the sale of new cars coming with an internal combustion engine by 2035 onwards. However, the ruling isn’t exactly completely in the locks, as the zero-tailpipe-emission pledge is still being debated.

The initial plan was to review this proposal in 2026, but that has been moved forward to next month. The automakers are obviously not happy with this measure, and Stellantis are now the latest brand to speak on this.
