Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has revised its worker recruitment criteria, allowing women to apply for the first time in history. Candidates must now have passed the 10th class, and women must have a minimum height of 144.7 centimetres.

A four per cent reservation has been set aside for differently-abled candidates, but physical ability to perform outdoor work remains essential. Applicants are also required to hold a two-year ITI certificate in the electrical and wireman trade.
