Kamal Haasan has mourned the death of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, calling him “a brave son of India taken far too soon” after the Indian Air Force pilot died in a Tejas fighter jet crash during rehearsals for the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Wing Commander Syal died on Friday afternoon when his Tejas fighter jet went down while executing a low-level aerobatic manoeuvre. The accident has triggered an outpouring of grief across the nation as tributes continue to pour in.

Sharing his condolences on social media, Haasan wrote, “Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, who gave his life while showcasing the pride of our Indian Air Force, the Tejas. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. India stands with you in this moment of immeasurable grief (sic).”
