Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently introduced a bill seeking to end the H-1B visa programme, has announced she will resign from the US House of Representatives in January.
Greene, a prominent far-right figure and Georgia lawmaker elected in 2020, said on Friday that she is stepping down one week after President Donald Trump abruptly withdrew his support for her. In a video statement posted online, the 51-year-old said she had “always been despised in Washington DC and never fit in."
