A heartbreaking incident has shaken Lakhapar village in Bhachau taluka of Kutch, where two young boys from a Maldhari family drowned in a village pond.

The victims, 12-year-old Kamlesh Becharbhai Koli and 13-year-old Dalsukh Harkhabhai Koli, had gone to graze their cattle as usual but did not return home by evening, prompting their worried families to begin a search.

Early Saturday morning, villagers found the boys’ slippers near the pond, raising fears that they had drowned. Police and fire teams conducted a challenging three-hour search before recovering both bodies.

The tragic loss of the two children has cast a wave of grief over the Koli community and the entire village as police proceed with further legal formalities.
