Bhubaneswar: Odisha today paid homage to Shaheed Laxman Nayak, the tribal hero and freedom fighter, on his birth anniversary. Wreath-laying ceremonies and commemorative events were organised at multiple locations across the state to honor his courage, patriotism, and sacrifice.

The main program was held at 9.30 am near the statue of Laxman Nayak at side gate number 1 of the Odisha Assembly. Speaker Surama Padhy and Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Labour & Employees State Insurance, Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia, led the ceremony by laying wreaths at the statue.
