Mumbai: A major fire broke out in the Dharavi area near Mahim Railway Station on Friday afternoon, triggering panic and causing disruption in suburban train services. The blaze, reported at 12:29 pm, originated in a ground-plus-one hutment structure, officials said.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), along with ambulances and BMC ward officials, rushed to the spot as thick smoke filled the densely populated locality. Witnesses, local reports indicated that at least two loud blasts were heard soon after the fire began, though the cause of the explosions remains unclear.

The MFB classified the incident as a Level-I fire, the lowest severity category, and confirmed that no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
