A Chinese manufacturer dubbed a “masterpiece of engineering” by dealers has picked up the prize of the ‘2026 Car of the Year’. The Chery Tiggo 8, one of the first models released by the Chinese manufacturer in the UK, picked up two prizes at the Carwow Car of the Year Awards.

The Tiggo 8 hybrid has secured the top ‘Car of the Year’ prize, while also scooping the ‘Hybrid Hero’ award in a tough selection process. The Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 are the first vehicles launched by major Chinese brand Chery since taking its first steps into the UK market.
