India’s shrimp trade recorded a steady rise in the first five months of FY26, with exporters earning $2.43 billion — an 18 per cent increase from last year — as per a new assessment by CareEdge Ratings. Shipment volumes also improved, touching 3.48 lakh metric tonnes, up 11 per cent year-on-year. Much of this momentum came from markets outside the United States, where export value jumped to $1.38 billion from $1.06 billion.
