A man wanted for the rape of a child in France was arrested this week in Liverpool. The 30-year-old suspect from Sri Lanka was detained by The National Crime Agency's (NCA) Extradition Unit in Liverpool city centre on Wednesday (19 November).
Sujanth Ketheeswararasa appeared in court in London a day later where extradition proceedings began before he was remanded in custody. He was wanted in connection with the alleged rape of a young girl.
He is now expected to appear via video link at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday (27 November) and a complete extradition hearing is scheduled to take place on 26 March next year.
