HMRC has issued a warning to UK taxpayers who need to mention four words on phone calls. The Labour Party government tax arm spoke out on Twitter, now X, after a taxpayer reached out for help.
"I can't change my allowance at all," the taxpayer fumed, saying: "I also cannot add my other employer. I also cannot get through on the phone."
They said: "I've been trying to contact someone for weeks regarding my tax. I have a new job and on a career break from another and I cannot move about my tax allowance. Half of my allowance is stuck in the job I'm not in! Please can I get some advice!!!!!"
