Nitish Rana to lead Delhi in SMAT 2025

Nitish Rana was appointed captain of the Delhi squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which begins across multiple venues from November 26. This marks Rana’s first appearance for Delhi since shifting back from Uttar Pradesh earlier this year.

Interestingly, Rana did not find a place in Delhi’s Ranji Trophy squad earlier in the season, despite the former champions struggling for victories and yet to secure an outright win so far. Competing in Elite Group D, Delhi have had a mixed campaign under split captaincy between Ayush Badoni and Yash Dhull, sitting sixth with eight points from five matches.
