PEQUOT LAKES — It was a season to remember for June Ruud.
The Pequot Lakes senior and outside hitter earned All-State honors in Class 2A, Granite Ridge Offensive Co-Player of the Year and can add Brainerd Dispatch All-Area Player of the Year to the list of accomplishments.
Ruud helped the Patriots to a 20-win season. She finished with a team-leading 356 kills, second in the area to Wadena-Deer Creek’s Payton Gravelle. She recorded 383 digs, 39 blocks and 38 ace serves. Ruud is the third Patriot named Dispatch All-Area Player of the Year in the last six seasons, joining Lydia Hubbard (2020), Maci Martini (2021, 2022) and Ella Kratochvil (2022, 2023).
