New Delhi: Star Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen stormed into the men’s singles final of the Australia Open Super 500 tournament on Saturday. Sen notched up a fighting 17-21, 24-22, 21-16 victory over world number six Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei to reach the summit clash.
The Indian shuttler showcased a lot of mental toughness and recovered perfectly from the opening game setback saving three match points in the second game to register a win eventually. Sen was engaged in a 86-minute semifinal clash with the second seed player form the Taipei.
The 24-year-old, who reached the Hong Kong Open final earlier this year, has not won a single title in the season. Sen is set to face Japanese player Yushi Tanaka in the summit clash. Tanaka had defeated Chinese Taipei’s fifth seed Lin Chun-Yi 21-
