NORTH CAROLINA (WITN) - The Powerball jackpot continues to roll as it now stands at $629 million for Saturday’s drawing.
A winner tonight could claim the jackpot as a $629 million annuity or $294.5 million in cash.
“Saturday’s jackpot is the second largest in the Powerball game this year,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Powerball players have won five jackpots so far this year. We are hoping the sixth win occurs tonight in North Carolina.”
The last five Powerball jackpots won this year were in Oregon, California, Kentucky, California, and Texas.
An estimated 12 million has been raised for education in North Carolina on the current Powerball run.
