The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has carried out a major anti-encroachment drive on Jangli Maharaj Road and Fergusson College Road, clearing an estimated 18,000 to 20,000 sq ft of illegal constructions. The action targeted unauthorised establishments that were causing public inconvenience, obstructing pedestrian movement, and contributing to congestion in two of the city’s busiest corridors.

According to officials, the drive was executed by PMC’s Anti-Encroachment Department, which undertook a coordinated effort to identify and remove structures that violated civic norms. These included temporary extensions, illegal kiosks, roadside occupations, and constructions built without approval.
