BEDFORD — Archbishop Hoban High School football coach Tim Tyrrell gathered his team in a locker room and thanked the seniors who made another deep playoff run possible.
The Knights’ postseason ended earlier than they anticipated, though. Hoban fell short of a Division II, Region 5 title on Nov. 21, losing 35-7 to rival Walsh Jesuit on a rainy night at Bedford Bearcat Stadium.

However, losing has been counterculture for Hoban during the vast majority of the school’s Tyrrell era, which began in 2013.
