SAGINAW, MI -- The Saginaw County Health Department took first place in the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services Director’s Award for groundbreaking work in community health transformation at the 2025 Michigan Premier Public Health Conference in Muskegon in late October.
The state health department recognized BWell Saginaw as more than a program but rather a united movement of 12 organizations determined to make Saginaw one of Michigan’s top 25 healthiest communities. The health department serves as a neutral convener for the BWell Partner Coalition, which aims to create a culture of health where everyone can live, work, play and thrive regardless of background.
