As a small business owner, I believe it is critical that we have a seat at the table when our elected officials are deciding policies that affect our businesses, our employees and our communities.

That’s why I traveled to Washington, D.C., last month with other local entrepreneurs as part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit to talk to Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Sen. Tina Smith about the opportunities and challenging realities of owning and growing a small business in Minnesota. I hope hearing directly from us helped them understand how vital it is for policymakers to stay connected to the people creating jobs and opportunity on Main Street.
