A Merseyside restaurant has had quite the rollercoaster journey since opening this summer. Back in July of this year, Dosa Village in Prescot was slapped with a one-star hygiene rating during a routine food inspection. The venue was inspected on July 23, mere weeks after it opened to the general public.
The team behind the restaurant, notably owners husband and wife, Karthik and Bhuvaneshwari Sivakumar, were told “major improvement” was needed. Fast forward to this week and it’s fair to say the team has done exactly that as the Kemble Street venue has been named the best Indian restaurant in the UK at the 2025 edition of the Asian Curry Awards .
