Srinagar, Nov 22: Reacting to the proposed 20 percent hike in electricity charges during peak hours by KPDCL, M Y Tarigami, CPIM leader and MLA Kulgam Saturday said the burden on consumers has reached a point where “even darkness is becoming expensive now.”

“Is there even anything left to say on this? What can one say? Even darkness is becoming expensive now. First the electricity, the light itself, became expensive. And now even the darkness is costly,” he said.

Tarigami added that once an Assembly session is convened, he will raise the issue strongly. “We will surely speak. Perhaps the session will be in Jammu.
