The West Perry School Board tapped business manager Cory Hoffman as interim superintendent effective upon Jeff Kuhns’ resignation on Jan. 9.
The board approved Hoffman on an unanimous roll call vote during their Nov. 10 meeting.
The move was controversial as several individuals expressed concerns over Hoffman serving in both roles simultaneously, viewing it as a potential conflict of interest. Some, including Derek Puchalsky who ran an unsuccessful write-in campaign for the Region II seat on the board, also questioned Hoffman’s role in the contract negotiation, which ultimately led to Kuhns decision to step down.
