Senior advocate Porus Kaka has warned that the independence and integrity of India’s tribunal system could be seriously undermined if the government continues to re-enact provisions already struck down by the Supreme Court, calling the repeated attempts “extremely strange” and contrary to constitutional limits.

His comments come a day after the apex court invalidated key sections of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021 , for reproducing elements of an earlier ordinance that had already been declared unconstitutional.
