A GOP strategist on Saturday flagged a key detail about a MAGA lawmaker's recent resignation that he says should "give a lot of Republicans pause."

Brendan Buck, a former key adviser to ex-House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), appeared on MS NOW over the weekend, and was asked about MAGA lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene's decision not to run for another term in office. The host specifically asked Buck, "What is going through Speaker Mike Johnson's mind right now?" and noted, "A prominent member of your party openly saying Republicans will lose the midterms. That has got to be a blow."

Buck replied, "I mean, I think on one hand, he's probably not sad to see Marjorie Taylor Greene go. She has been a trouble for him," before adding, "You picked out the thing that stuck out to me most as well: she said the House is going to go to Democrats next year."

He then added, "I mean, that's a remarkable thing to be saying."

"Now, you know, that's probably right. But to be able to just openly say that, what's the point of sticking around? I'm going to be in the minority. I'm not going to have any authority. Yeah, that that should give I think a lot of Republicans pause about what they're doing right now, the direction that they're headed," Buck said. "Things have not been going their way lately. And I think it'd be very hard for people to to deny it."
