Britons claiming certain benefits will receive a bonus payment in December, courtesy of the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ). The DWP is set to distribute a one-off Christmas Bonus in 2025.

This £10 payment, which won't affect your benefits, will likely appear as ' DWP XB' on your bank statement. According to Gov.uk: "The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week.

"This is normally the first full week of December. You do not need to claim - you should get paid automatically."
