Jesuit and Dominican earned runner-up team finishes as Jesuit senior Aidan Villars and Mandeville sophomore Avery Daigle each posted a pair of Automatic All-America times at the Division I meet Saturday in Sulphur.
Villars won the 100-yard butterfly in 48.09 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 48.38 as he ended the weekend with a pair of composite state records while Jesuit finished with 327½ points behind state champion Catholic-Baton Rouge (437½ points).
Villars set the composite state record in the 100 butterfly at 47.86 seconds during a preliminary heat on Friday, setting the stage for his two individual wins on Saturday. Villars also swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:33.56) that bettered the composite state record previously set by Jesuit in 2023 and earned All-America cons
