A heating specialist has cautioned Brits against a widespread radiator "mistake". This habit could be adding an extra £55 to your annual heating costs.

Gordon Wallis, from heating oil supplier Your NRG, has urged people to stop draping wet laundry on their radiators. Whilst it may seem "convenient", the practice could be significantly reducing their efficiency.

Gordon said: "Drying clothes on radiators might feel like a convenient solution, but it can actually cost you more in the long run. Did you know this common mistake could increase your energy bills by up to £55 a year?".

"When radiators are blocked by damp clothes, they can't heat the room effectively, leading to wasted energy and higher costs."
