CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Northern Iowa outscored Youngstown State 29-7 in the second half, but could not catch the No. 17 ranked Penguins, falling 35-32 in their final home game of the season.
Youngstown State pulled ahead with a 28-3 lead.
The Panthers came out of the halftime locker room with four consecutive scoring drives, cutting a once 25-point deficit to just three.
But UNI’s final drive ended after Jaxon Dailey’s fourth and 16 pass was well short of the sticks.
Dailey threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions. J.C. Roque Jr had six receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns.
In his senior day, Tucker Langenberg led the Panthers with 15 tackles.
