(KRON) — The Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe is celebrating opening day for the 2025-2026 ski season Monday.

“Thanks to 20 inches of natural snowfall this week, cold temperatures for snowmaking, and the help of our best-in-class snowmaking teams, Heavenly is excited to welcome guests back to the resort,” Heavenly Mountain Resort announced Saturday.

The snow season is off to a slow start in the Sierra Nevada. However, the resort plans to open the following slopes Monday: The Tram, Gunbarrel, Pasty's and Powderbowl.
