ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — After asking for the public’s assistance, police have found the family of a boy who was discovered running into the road in DeKalb County on Friday.
Around 11 a.m., DeKalb County officers responded to the 1600 block of Laurel Creek Circle in Lithonia for a report of a boy running onto the roadway.
Officers tried to locate the boy’s parents, but he was non-verbal and couldn’t communicate where he lives. The child was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Officers posted a photo of the child on social media to see if anybody recognized him, and on Saturday morning, police said they had found the boy’s family.
“Thank you very much for your help getting his information out to the public!” the department said in a statement.
