SAN ANTONIO (KLTV) - Former Rusk Eagle Owen McCown tossed a career-high five touchdown passes in UTSA’s 58-24 win over East Carolina University on Saturday.
The redshirt-junior now has 25 touchdown passes this season, which matches his total from a year ago.
McCown finished the game 24-of-33 for 248 yards and five touchdowns. McCown got the scoring started with an 11-yard touchdown pass to AJ Wilson to put the Roadrunners ahead 7-0. Later in the quarter, McCown found the end zone again. This time, Houston Thomas caught a 5-yard touchdown pass to put UTSA ahead 14-0. In the second quarter, McCown hit David Amador II on a screen pass and Amador took it 45 yards for the third touchdown of the game to put UTSA ahead 21-0.
