Fans of a long-running animated comedy series said farewell to a prominent character.

In the latest episode of “The Simpsons,” the beloved First Church Organist Alice Glick collapsed in the opening scene during a sermon by Reverend Lovejoy.

After three decades, Mrs. Glick has been killed off. She was originally voiced by the late Cloris Leachman and then by Tress MacNeille.

The Nov. 16 episode “Sashes to Sashes” honored the character with a memorial service at Springfield Elementary and revealed she left her estate to fund the school’s music program.

This isn’t the first time Mrs. Glick died in the show. Back in Season 23 episode “Replaceabable You,” she was attacked by a Robopet. The episode ended with a shot of her dancing in heaven.
