The CHSAA high school football playoffs continued this weekend, and two Pueblo area schools competed — Pueblo West and Pueblo South were both in the playoffs, both on the road.
The Cyclones in Class 4A traveled to Dakota Ridge on Friday, Nov. 21, to take on the No. 1 seed Eagles on the road in the quarterfinals. Pueblo West came into the game after narrowly beating Northfield at home in the previous game, 16-14.
The Eagles, at home, took care of the Cyclones easily, 42-14. The Cyclones played well, but the Eagles just had a bit more talent on their team, boasting two Division I players on offense, including running back Landon Kalsbeck, who is heading to Washington State University.
The South Colts were also on the road on Saturday, Nov. 22, for the Class 3A quarterfinals up at Windsor
