Retired NHL goalie Byron Dafoe has been taken to small claims court in Kelowna.
Alpine Civil Engineering Consultants is seeking nearly $20,000 from the former Boston Bruins netminder for unpaid invoices and interest.
Alpine Engineering claims the two parties entered into an agreement involving Dafoe’s multi-unit development at 5126 MacKinnon Rd. in Peachland.
The lawsuit says they agreed that "Unless otherwise agreed, interest on overdue accounts will run at the rate of 1.5% per month (equivalent to 19.56% per annum).”
Alpine Engineering claims its end of the deal was to provide services “including but not limited to, project management, layouts, design, approvals and construction services to (Dafoe).”
