CHAPEL HILL — Duke football knew it was going to need to run the ball.

Facing a UNC front seven that ranks seventh in the ACC against the run – and features the league’s sack leader – the Blue Devils placed a clear emphasis on the ground game after being limited to just 42 rushing yards last week against Virginia.

It paid off in the 32-25 win over the Tar Heels to help keep the Victory Bell in Durham.

"That was a huge point of emphasis this week, was just to run the ball," running back Anderson Castle said following the win. "And to stay with it even when, you know, it might not look good early, but just to stay with it. That was important for us. And I think, ultimately, it helped today, just keep us on schedule for the most part."
