Texas A&M makes history with Mike Elko's first shutout victory
Marcel Reed threw three first quarter touchdown passes as No. 3 Texas A&M raced to an early lead and cruised past FCS Samford 48-0 on Saturday.
The Aggies (11-0) reached 11 wins for the first time since 1992 and will enter Friday’s rivalry trip to No. 17 Texas with a perfect record. Reed completed 10-of-15 passes for 120 yards before exiting early in the second quarter, one week after engineering the biggest comeback in school history against South Carolina.
Ashton Bethel-Roman caught two touchdown passes, including a 58-yard strike, and Amari Daniels rushed for 106 yards and a score in his final home game. Texas A&M led 28-0 early in the second as coach Mike Elko rotated in reserves.
