GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Earlier in November, Alachua County commissioners approved $200,000 in funding to expand food distribution in the county.
There are resources at various facilities across the county, from High Springs to Micanopy
The county says thousands of its residents are facing food insecurity due to disruptions with SNAP benefits
Food will be distributed on various days throughout the week on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
Proof of snap enrollment and county residency is required.
Distributions will take place at:
Library Partnership Resource Center, 912 Northeast 16th Avenue, Gainesville, on Nov. 25 at 10 a.m.
Willie Mae Stokes Community Center, 355 Northwest Eestalustee Avenue, Micanopy, on Nov. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
