CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Monsters beat the Hershey Bears 5-3 on Saturday night to snap their 0-6 winless streak at home.

The Monsters went back to their roots, playing as the “Barons” for the weekend.

The historic homestand marks the start of the American Hockey League’s 90th Anniversary Celebration. The Barons and Bears met in the Calder Cup Playoffs 12 times including the Finals in 1941, 1945 and 1954 where Cleveland won all three titles.

On Saturday night, Hudson Fasching got the Barons on the board at 4:06 of the first period with helpers from Jack Williams and Ole Julian Bjørgvik-Holm putting the Monsters ahead 1-0.

Jordan Dumais scored on the power play at 7:49 in the first off assists from Mikael Pyyhtiä and Luca Pinelli, giving Cleveland a 2-0 lead.
