MONROE COUNTY, Tennessee — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said that one of its employees, who works in the Court Services Division, was involved in a motor vehicle crash while off-duty on Saturday evening.

MCSO employee Josh Woods was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where the Tennessee Highway Patrol placed him under arrest for Driving Under the Influence.

“In our continued effort to remain transparent with the community, we are sharing this information as promptly as possible,” Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones said.

MCSO said it is working to obtain additional information regarding this matter and will release updates as they get them.
