WEST COLUMBIA — The superintendent leading schools in Cayce and West Columbia is set to retire.
The Lexington Two school board voted unanimously Nov. 20 to accept Brenda Hafner’s retirement, which will take effect at the end of the current school year, on June 30, 2026.

Hafner has not given details about the reason for her departure, but said in a statement issued by the district that her family had to take priority “due to some recent challenges.”
