Authorities overseeing the Jagannath Temple in Puri have resolved to complete a full inventory (audit) of jewellery and other valuables stored in the newly refurbished Ratna Bhandar by April 2026, an official present at a meeting told PTI on November 21. The administration will attempt to reclaim silver ingots worth an estimated ₹90 crore, recovered from the Emar Mutt in 2011 and currently safeguarded in the district armoury.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the temple’s Managing Committee met under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, the titular king of Puri. After the meeting, SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee told reporters that all valuables belonging to the 12th-century shrine have been returned to the Ratha Bhandar following repair work.
